Video: Procession of torch bearers mark start of Royal National Mòd

The Royal National Mòd has kicked off with a torchlight procession through Stornoway.

The Mòd's new tradition of a torchlight procession - accompanied by Lewis Pipeband - saw a large number of torch bearers weave their way from Stornoway town centre to the Lewis Sports Centre for the Mòd's opening ceremony.

The event will see over 200 competitions and events in highland dancing, sport, literature, drama, Gaelic music and song.
