High winds have blown a supermarket van off the road in Harris.

The driver of the Tesco vehicle was taken to hospital with shock but was not injured.

The high-sided van was on the steep road along the sloping side of the Monan hill above Ceann an Ora - between the quarry and Bunavoneadar junction, a few miles north of Tarbert.

It is believed the accident was caused by strong gusts blowing the vehicle onto the rocky moorland at lunchtime yesterday. The van ended up on its side, badly bashed and damaged.
