Hebrides News

A gale is forecast to affect exposed parts of the Western Isles on Monday.

Wintry squalls are also expected at times as a blast of cold air sweeps down from the Arctic.

Sleet or hail showers, occasionally thundery, may also be experienced, particularly tonight and into Tuesday with strong winds continuing.

Overnight, frosty conditions are also expected while icy stretches may form on roads and pavements.

Chilly, wintry weather mixed with bright spells is forecast to affect the Hebrides into the middle of the week.

The Met Office said weather conditions are unusually cold for late April.
