Underage alcohol offence 16/3/13
Donald Macaulay of 11 Cearn Thasasaidh, Stornoway, was placed on a two year community
payback order and instructed to carry out 240 hours of unpaid community service
work for buying alcohol for an underage teenager.
The 53-year-old who was sentenced at Stornoway Sheriff Court previously admitted
purchasing the vodka on 7 December.
He was also banned from drinking alcohol for 24 months.
The court heard a group of teenagers had chipped in for the drink and persuaded Macaulay
to buy it.
The offence came to light when one of the youngsters was spotted drunk at a youth
club the oourt was told.
