The University of the Highlands and Islands will be taking over nurse training degree courses being run in Stornoway and Inverness from next year.
The training for BSc mental health nursing and BSc adult nursing is currently delivered by Stirling University.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council has given the final approval required to allow the transfer of the programmes from summer 2017.
