Two injured in harbour accident 12/8/14
Two men are said to be injured following an accident on a pier in Stornoway harbour this morning ((Tues).
The emergency services attended the incident around 7.50am.
It is understood the accident may have involved activity at construction works on a pier.
At least one person was taken to the Stornoway hospital, one mile away, by ambulance.
One has a broken leg and the other is described as “walking wounded.”
Initial suggestions that one man was trapped for a short period are still to be investigated said police.
Inquiries into the incident continue.
