KT Tunstall Stornoway gig

Scottish singer KT Tunstall has announced she will perform in Stornoway on 16 August as part of a Highlands and Islands leg of an UK-wide tour.

The Edinburgh-born star who headlined the first Oban Live festival at the weekend is also taking to the stage at a number of music festivals this summer, including Glastonbury and the Cambridge Folk Festival.

A jaunt back to her new base in California sees her play a handful of gigs in the USA.

She flies the Atlantic for northern Scotland before the end of summer, taking in Wick, Forres, Orkney and Shetland.

Tunstall's weight was checked on baggage scales when departing Lewis after performing at the 2011 Hebridean Celtic Festival.

Concert dates include Ullapool on 15th August: Stornoway, 16 Aug: Wick, 19 Aug; Inverness, 26 Aug, Aberdeen, 27 Aug.

Highlands and Islands show tickets go on sale on Wednesday at 10am.
