Kenny Macleod, convener of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, has paid tribute to former member of the council, Angus A Morrison, who passed away on 19 January.  

Mr Morrison served as councillor for the Port of Ness ward from 1978 to 1982.

His sister in law, Katie Mackenzie, was later the member for the same ward between 1994 and 2003.

Kenny Macleod, said: “In his four years as a member of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Angus served on the education committee, housing committee and finance committee, taking an interest in not just his own ward but also matters impacting the Western Isles as a whole.

“Our thoughts are with all those who knew Angus, particularly his wife, Dolina, his family, colleagues and friends.”

The flag at Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Sandwick Road office was flown at half-mast as a mark of respect.
