The convener of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, has paid tribute to Murdo Macdonald, former councillor for the Coll ward who has died.

 

Mr Macdonald served two terms on the Comhairle from 1978 to 1986. He was on several committees including education, housing, social work and environmental services.

 

He served as vice-chair of development services and was also on the licensing board and the fisheries committee.

 

Convener Norman A Macdonald, said: “Our thoughts are with the friends and family of Mr Macdonald at this sad time.

 

"As is our custom the Comhairle flag is flying at half mast as a mark of respect for a former councillor.”
