Liam death scene was “horrendous” said crime examiner    10/5/13
by Grant McCabe

The scene where dead teenager Liam Aitchison was found was today described by a crime scene examiner as one of the most "horrendous" she has attended.

The partially-clothed body of the South Uist boy was discovered inside an apparently blood-stained property in Steinish on the outskirts of Stornoway.

The evidence was heard at the trial of Johnathan MacKinnon and Stefan Millar at the High Court in Glasgow.

The pair - both 22 years - are charged with the murder of Mr Aitchison on November 23 2011.

It is claimed he was struck on the head and body with a knife and bottle as well having his head stamped upon.

Crime scene examiner Jody Busby was later called to attend the property.

She told the jury that four human teeth were also discovered.

Prosecutor Iain McSporran asked if they were "associated with this scene of violence."

Ms Busby replied: "Yes."

She was also quizzed on how this compared to other incidents she had been called to.

The 34 year-old told the trial: "In my eight year career, it is one of the most horrendous scenes I have been to."

Mackinnon and Millar deny murder.

The trial, before Judge Lord Kinclaven, continues.
