A fisherman accused of breaking into a shop on Lewis is to stand trial.

Shane Warren pleaded not guilty to a charge of stealing money, tobaccos and a business cheque from Cross Stores in Ness, when he appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

It is claimed Warren acted with another person during the alleged incident in November.

The 32-year-old from of Buckie was granted bail by Sheriff David Sutherland.

Trial was set for November.
