Western Isles singers win the prestigious Traditional Gold Medals

Two Western Isles singers have won the Traditional Gold Medals at the Mòd.
Hannah Knight and John Joe MacNèill hit the right notes to clinch the hotly contested competition for solo singing in traditional style.
Hannah Knight from Carloway, Lewis is keen Gaelic singer and Mod competitor. She is also a member of Carloway Gaelic Choir.
Mr MacNeil from Barra is the head teacher of Lochaber Gaelic Primary School in Fort William. He had a range of experiences of hotel and banking management and in accounting prior to entering teaching.
