Warning of toxic scum on lochs

Recent samples taken at Loch Stranndabhat, Lochs have indicated the presence of People are being warned about potentially posinious algae on freshwater lochs.

The scum has appeared on Loch Stranndabhat in the Lochs district of Lewis.

Blue-green algae is also present at Loch Branahuie at the Braighe machair in Lewis, having been first reported a month ago

Ccontact with the algal scum should be avoided.
