John Rush of Taransay Court, Stornoway, was placed under supervision for 12 months when he appeared at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

The 35-year-old was convicted of shouting and swearing at his ex-partner at the Acres accommodation complex in November.

Two months previously he used threatening behaviour by struggling with another man at the same place, the court heard.

Sheriff David Sutherland also instructed he carry out 120 hours of unpaid community service work.
