Theory of evolution             12/9/13

Sir,

Davina Owen (Letters, 11/9/13) makes the extraordinary claim that evolution is a demonstrable fact.

I am presuming – given the context of her letter – that she is not referring to the variety apparent within the different animal and plant kinds. No-one, least of all creationists, has ever denied evolution in that sense.

However what many object to – and rightly – is the idea of evolution as a mechanism which is able to account for the separate existence of all the different living things. The notion that evolution is responsible for a process of development in living things, beginning with microbes and leading ultimately to men, must be rejected as there is not a single proven fact to support it.

The speculation inherent in the theory of evolution, and the number of proven frauds associated with the theory, mean that it ought not to be dignified with the term 'science.'.
