A woman who stole from a vulnerable islander has appeared in Stornoway Sheriff Court.

Lena Jane Morrison of Plantation Road, Stornoway, took an Ipod, mobile phone, and a wallet and its contents.

Procurator fiscal, Karen Smith, said Morrison gained access to the flat of a vulnerable person after someone let her in through the security entrance.

The stolen items were recovered said her lawyer.

Sheriff David Sutherland placed the 27-year-old on good behaviour for six months.

She also remains on bail until October.
