Seatruck’s freight vessel MV Arrow is joining Cal Mac on a short-term charter until 7 September.
MV Arrow will deliver MV Loch Seaforth’s overnight freight sailing six days a week.
Her timetable means supplies, goods and supermarket consignments will arrive on Lewis later than usual with a subsequent delay in deliveries to shops and business.
The Scottish Government did not consult with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar over her timetable.
She is scheduled to depart Lewis at 10.30pm Sunday to Friday.
Starting tonight for the next fortnight the ship is scheduled to arrive Ullapool at 2.15am. Her mainland departure is at 4am for arrival in Stornoway at 7.45am.
From 2 August her docking times will be brought forward by 15 minutes.
The Arrow normally operates on the Irish Sea and is manned by an Eastern European crew.
