An island teenager accused of assaulting three police officers has been remanded in custody.

Tanya Black of Room 6, The Old House, Lewis Street, Stornoway, appeared in Stornoway Sheriff Court over an alleged incident which happened yesterday (Wed).

The 19-year-old faces five charges including kicking at police officers.

She is accused of threatening behaviour by persistently kicking the warden’s door in her hostel and making threats of violence.

It is also alleged she uttered threats of violence and made offensive remarks at the accident and emergency department in the Stornoway hospital.

Black made no plea when she appeared in front of Sheriff David Sutherland this afternoon.  Bail was refused and her case was adjourned to a later date.
