Teenager gets two-year drinking ban      1/3/14

An alcohol and drug ban has been imposed on a teenager after she assaulted another female.

Sheriff David Sutherland ordered Jean Anne Maclachan not to drink any alcohol nor take illegal drugs for the next 24 months.

He also tagged her until the end of February 2015, requiring her to obey a 8pm to 6am curfew.

The 19-year-old, whose address was given as The Old House, 4 Lewis Street, Stornoway, admitted seizing her victim by the face on 20 January at The Old House.

The court was told Maclachan injured the female by squeezing her face, seizing her clothing and pulling her.

In addition, Maclachan pleaded guilty to drinking alcohol despite a temporary ban imposed by the court when she was granted bail in January.

Sheriff Sutherland also placed her under two years supervision and ordered her to undertake 120 hours of unpaid community service work.
