It’s been a busy year for the Swim Western Isles club with swimmers attending meets around the country and numerous personal bests and club records have been broken.

A number of club volunteers, coaches and committee members recently took part in time keeping and meet manager training in Stornoway.

Club president, Robert Doig, completed his chief timekeeper training.

Tutors were Anne and Brian Hendry from North District Scottish Swimming.

The training was put into practise when time trials were held in Stornoway this month where local swimmers embraced the chance to improve their times.

Meanwhile, club member, Isla MacDonald, 9, won all four gold medals for her age group and secured personal bests at a swimming competition in Elgin.

The club plans to hold introductory sessions and names can be added to a list held at reception in the Sports Centre in Stornoway.
