Oil and gas workers from Western Isles feeling at risk of redundancy are being encouraged to visit their local Skills Development Scotland (SDS) centre.
In addition to this support, SDS has organised a Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE) event for oil and gas workers.
The event will take place on 25 March at Aberdeen Football Club and is open to those who feel they are at risk of redundancy.
Anyone who cannot attend is being encouraged to pop in to their local SDS centre
to discuss the support available through PACE – the Scottish Government initiative
for responding to redundancy situations.
PACE is a key focus of the new Energy Jobs
Taskforce that was set up to support jobs in the energy sector.
Iain Maclennan, SDS Chair of PACE for the Western Isles, said: “The idea behind PACE is that it makes things a bit simpler for anyone facing redundancy as it brings together all the support you would expect to receive.
“I would encourage all workers who are facing redundancy, or are concerned about the possibility of losing their job, to attend the PACE event and make the most of the support available.
“Redundancy information and advice is also available to anyone visiting the SDS centre on Francis Street in Stornoway, or in Lionacleit, Benbecula.”

Visitors will have the opportunity to visit exhibitors in five distinct zones covering money, jobs and job searching, future learning, health and wellbeing, and setting up a business.
