A Lewis resident completely forgot where he left his car after going to watch an early morning sunrise.

 

Karl Sibanda of Marybank had been drinking heavily so asked his friend to take the wheel.

 

But later the 27-year-old could not remember where they left the vehicle and went to Stornoway police station for help Stornoway Sheriff Court was told.

 

After locating his car they charged him in connection with the incident.

 

At Stornoway Sheriff Court the accused pleaded guilty allowed his friend to drive knowing he was not insured in October last year.

 

Sheriff David Sutherland fined him £200 and imposed six points on his licence.
