The salvage lift took place on Saturday.

A MAIB spokesman said the fishing vessel "is now on a barge to Glasgow, where we expect she will arrive on Tuesday.

"Preparations will then be made so that our inspectors can continue with their investigation."

The MAIB said: "The aim of our investigation is to establish why the fishing vessel Louisa sank and why lives were lost.

"A full and detailed report will be published at the end of our investigation."

The sunken MFV Louisa has been raised off the seabed.

The crab boat was salvaged for the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) which is probing the tragedy in which three men died.

The organisation have issued images of the salvage operation.

The wreck is being transported to Glasgow and will be transferred onto dry land for a MAIB inspection.

One fisherman is still missing after the crew abandoned the shellfish vessel when she flooded and sank while at anchor off Mingulay, near Barra, on April 9.

Martin Johnstone, 29, from Caithness and Christopher Morrison, of South Harris, perished when the vessel went down about 12 miles south of Barra.

The skipper, Paul Alliston, from Lewis, is still missing.

Lachlan Armstrong from Stornoway, survived after managing to swim to shore.

The boat's liferaft did not inflate and her crew were left hanging onto the side of the barely floating device.
