Rising temperatures are set to bring a mixed bag of weather for the Western Isles this week.

The tail-end of a heatwave spreading out from the continent means warmer conditions and sunshine for the next two days. Highs around 20°C in Stornoway on Tuesday are expected. Other parts of the islands are forecast to reach 15°C.

The worst of thunderstorms, lightening and flash flooding as highlighted by a Met Office yellow warning may miss the Western Isles though heavy rain is forecast over Wednesday morning.

Fog and mist are also likely to affect parts of the islands.
