Substance Misuse Development Officer

Grade:   5

 

Salary:   21,176 to 27,534 pro rata

 

FullTime  until March 2011

 

 

 

Western Isles Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP) is a partnership organisation that has made a significant contribution to improving the response to drug and alcohol problems. It has a responsibility for developing and implementing the alcohol and drug strategy for the Western Isles. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the ADP.

 

The post holder will be based in the Health Promotion Department, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. You will work in partnership with ADP to be responsible at an operational level, for ensuring implementation of interagency strategies and action plans for tackling substance misuse in the Western Isles and for providing support to the Coordinator, Chair and Members of ADP.

 

You will work in partnership with local authority departments, Northern Constabulary, NHS, local service providers, voluntary sector and community groups. This post could provide an ideal secondment opportunity for a suitable person wishing to expand their experience of service development and partnership working.

 

A degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline is essential. Experience and knowledge of substance misuse and of multi agency working is required. The post is subject to Disclosure Scotland clearance.
