Thousands of pounds are being raised to help the families of the two Barra teenagers caught up in the Manchester terror explosion.

Some £13,000 has been donated through a JustGiving page since it was set up on Wednesday afternoon.

Cal Mac seaman, Alan Anderson, who created up the page, wrote: “We are trying to raise some money towards the costs associated with the families of Eilidh MacLeod and Laura MacIntyre.

“2 young girls who left the island of Barra to go to a concert and were caught up in the terrible events in Manchester.”

The last contact from Eilidh MacLeod was on Monday night when she texted her mum that the pop concert was ending and to come and collect them.

Laura MacIntyre was found in a hospital on Tuesday evening. She is badly injured.

Parents of both girls and other family members arrived in Manchester yesterday.
