Calum Maclean of Upper Coll, Lewis, has been elected as the new chairman of the Stornoway Trust.

He succeeds Murdo Murray who held the post for the past three years.

Mr Maclean, who recently retired as the headmaster of Point School, has been a member of the Stornoway Trust since 2003.

Ten trustees sit on the board including those successful at the recent elections: Donald Crichton, Murdo Murray, Alexander John Murray, and Colin Maclean.

Continuing members are: Norman A Maciver, Jonathan Maciver, Calum Macrae, Cameron MacLeay, and Callum Ian Macmillan
