Ship’s hull crumpled in harbour collision 29/1/14
Trucker Paul McGlynn (above) was in the drivers’ mess and feared the Ranger had collided
into another ship. He said the experience was frightening and traumatising. Behind
him, the crumpled steelwork of the ship’s hull is evident.
A large section of crumpled and bashed steel plating has to be replaced around the
ship’s portside stern quarter. Debris from the cracked pier ended up in a large dent
in the vessel.
