List of Stornoway parking restriction changes 4/10/14
Councillors have approved a range of changes to try and ease trafiic and parking congestion in Stornoway town centre. The extra restrictions will be delayed until the council takes in a traffic regulation order.
The changes – including new markings, signs, posts and the removal of yellow lines – will cost around £2,000.
Francis Street between Lewis Street and Matheson Road
Extend "No Waiting At Any Time" restriction from Lewis Street junction to a point 31 metres eastward of Lewis Street kerb line.
Cromwell Street/Kenneth Street junction
Extend "No Waiting At Any Time" restriction 10 metres southwards to a point where the road gets wider and vehicles have less impact on Visibility.
Church Street between Lewis Street and Matheson Road
No waiting to be introduced to junction at Haldane. Approx. 30 metres
Church Street between Kenneth Street and Cromwell Street.
“No Waiting At Any Time” parking restriction introduced on both sides of the road
Kenneth Street/Church Street junction
(Near Police Station) Right of way along Church Street with priority over traffic moving along Kenneth Street. Change priority and provide Give Way on Church Street
Access to the new car park South Beach Street at rear of bus station
Introduce “One Way” system and “No Waiting At Any Time” parking restriction from “Herring Girl” to new car park entrance.
Kenneth St – Section between South Beach St and Francis St
Introduce “No Waiting At Any Time” parking restriction on both sidesof street.
Bayhead Street
Remove restriction at layby between rroundabout and Stag Road junction

Remove restriction at layby between Stag Road and old dentists’ surgery
