A Stornoway man has appeared in court for resisting arrest.

 

Ruaridh Stewart of Nicolson Road, Stornoway, admitted a single charge of repeatedly resisting and obstructing two police officers by repeatedly spitting and struggling violently with them on 28 September. He also kicked a female constable on her leg.

 

The 23-year-old was fined £200 when his case was called at Stornoway Sheriff Court.

 

He is also to pay £100 compensation to each police officer.
