The Scottish Hydro shop in Stornoway is holding a charity fundraising “coffee, cake and chatter” week.

The event aims to raise money for CLIC Sargent which is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.

The body provides clinical, practical and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life.

Hydro shop staff are participating in CLIC Sargent’s appeal called "Wig Wednesday" on May 20th which encourages people to be sponsored to wear a wig for the day while supporting children who may lose their hair through cancer treatment.

A donation web page is set up at: www.JustGiving.com and the group decided to make a wider event of it to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

The idea arose of having "coffee cake and chatter" days with homemade professional baking donated by Laura Macdonald of The Original Stornoway Oatie from Wednesday to Saturday.

There’s also a draw with the chance to win prizes.

Staff will be wearing colourful wigs for the full four days.
