Two islanders face trial over an alleged housebreaking.

It follows an incident where a number of personal items were stolen from a flat in Plantation Road at the end of May.

It is understood the property was empty as the resident was on the mainland at the time.

Alister Macaulay and Ian Macaulay are accused of breaking into a property in Stornoway.

At Stornoway Sheriff Court, the pair, both of Druim nan Curracag, Callanish, were remanded in custody until the trial.
