Medical Ward 2 in Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway has reopened.

NHS Western Isles halted new admissions after a flu outbreak in the ward.

The health board said the closure was designed to prevent further spread of infection.

Now the ward is able to start accepting patients again.

Visitors continue to be requested not to visit if they have any symptoms of flu or feel unwell.

Visitors should ensure they wash their hands before and after visiting.
