One of the newest Free Church congregations is set to welcome its first-
Rev Hugh Ferrier is due to be inducted to the High Free Church Stornoway.
Because the congregation does not have its own building, the induction will be hosted by Stornoway Free Church on Kenneth Street.
Stornoway High Free has grown in numbers following a split in the High Church of Scotland last year.
Some 250 worshippers left the Matheson Road congregation in April 2014 in protest of the Church of Scotland’s decision to allow gay ministers and the departure from Biblical teaching.
Its services in Stornoway Primary School regularly attracts around 300 people.
Mr Ferrier is expected to take his first service on Sunday.
