Fishing boat drifting helplessly at sea 19/5/14
A fishing boat with three men onboard was drifting helplessly in the Atlantic Ocean after breaking down on Monday morning.
The MFV Carlsbay radioed an emergency alert after her engine suffered a serious fault while the crew were working creels some 28 miles north of the Butt of Lewis shortly before 11am local time.
Six miles further north is the uninhabited Sula Sgeir rock.
The Lewis-
Stornoway RNLI lifeboat is on her way to the emergency and intends to tow the stricken vessel to safety.
