Part of Bayhead Street in Stornoway will be closed between  8.15pm and 10.45pm on Wednesday evening during the fireworks display.

 

Bayhead Street from the bottom of Kenneth Street to the Bridge Community Centre will be shut to traffic for the period.

 

Ceilidh music will entertain the crowd from 9pm.

 

Various speeches are due to take place between 9.30pm and 10pm - the fireworks will be let off sometime during this period.

 

A burger van and soft drinks will be available in the area during the event.

 

Organisers, Stornoway Amenity Trust, urges attendees to wear warm clothes.

 

A First Aid station will be situated at the lorry stage area near the Red Cross shop.


Parking will be available in the town centre, South Beach Street, Smith Avenue and the Acres car park opposite the council offices.
