Blar Buidhe care home in Stornoway is to be sold.

Owner HC-One - the UK’s third largest care home operator plans to dispose of the facility as it apparently does not fit its expansion strategy.

Blar Buidhe was taken over by HC One after its former operator, Southern Cross went bust.

In November, HC-One was acquired by investment companies, Formation Capital and Safanad as well as its management firm, Court Cavendish, in a £477 million sale.

Court Cavendish’s boss, Dr Chai Patel, reportedly received a £5 million bonus over the deal.

The private equity owners are investing £100 million into its remaining homes and recently took over Meridian Healthcare Group which ran 30 home sin the north of England.
