A deterioration in broadband speeds is frustrating many people in Lewis.

The service has been marked by reduced speeds this since last weekend.

In some cases homes and businesses have lost broadband connections for periods.

One user said: “I'm experiencing very very slow broadband speeds and my brother (who lives at a different address in Stornoway) has no broadband at all.”

Angus Brendan MacNeil, SNP candidate for the Western Isles has raised the issue with Brendan Dick, Director, BT Scotland.

Angus MacNeil said: “I understand from a number of businesses in Stornoway that the slow broadband speed is making it difficult for them to operate effectively and I have now contacted BT to ask that they investigate and repair the fault.”
