Stornoway black pudding will be showcased at a special St Andrews Day even at the Scotland Office in London.

Charles Macleod Butchers are one of ten food producers invited by Scottish Secretary David Mundell to the Taste of Scotland event on Monday.

All parliamentarians and diplomats in London have been invited, and it is expected around 150 will attend.

Iain Macleod, Shona Macleod and Rona MacDonald, of Charles Macleod Ltd, will be on hand to give the dignitaries tasters and samples and tell some of the background and story behind the famous Stornoway black pudding and the island of Lewis.

Rona MacDonald said: “We were delighted to receive the invitation, and to be amongst such a small group of producers carefully selected to represent Scotland, is a real boost.

Shona Macleod commented: “We are busy making special samples which are bound for London this week, in preparation for this exciting event."
