Town ban islander is jailed 16/7/14
An islander who was banned from going into Stornoway was caught in a flat in the
town.
At Stornoway Sheriff Court, Alister Macaulay was jailed for four months for breaching
his bail conditions.
Macaulay of 6 Druim nan Curracag, Callanish, had previously appeared in the same
court in June and was released on bail.
At that time, he avoided being remanded in custody by pledging to stay within his
home address during a 7pm to 7am curfew as well as keeping away from Stornoway.
However, Macaulay accepted he was within an address on Plantation Road, Stornoway
on July 7th.
He would have been imprisoned for six months but received a two month discount for
his early plea last week.
