Blackhouse Bakery in Plasterfield by Stornoway is pulling down the shutters at the end of this month.
The owners said the business would close due to chronic staff shortages.
Business partners, Rebecca Lawson and Moray Weir, set up the firm over six years ago in the former Mackinnon Bakery premises.
In a social media post they wrote: "It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the closure of Blackhouse Bakery on the 30th of April.
"We have given it everything, built an amazing business and brand and are truly devastated to be shutting the doors.
"It takes 23 of us to bake, pack, sell and deliver our products and by next week that team will be at nine.
"We have tried unsuccessfully to recruit suitable staff across all areas of the business as each department is affected and all are interdependent. We just can't continue anymore.”
They added: “First, we would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing customers, both locally who have visited the shop and to our amazing wholesale customers who have supported for the past six-and-a-half years.
"We are so grateful to you all for sticking with us whilst we found our feet and for continuing buy all of our tasty treats.
“"We are so sorry to be shutting the shop in Plasterfield and know only too well the impact that will have on our local community.
"Second, to our staff. Both past and present. We would never have become what we are without you - every single one of you who has been part of this team at some point in our journey.
"To the few who remain. Your loyalty and hard work are outstanding.
"We will miss you more than you know and will be forever grateful for what you have done, both for the bakery and for us personally."
