Hebrides News

Two gales in succession are forecast to affect the Western Isles.

Severe gale or storm force winds and rain are expected on Monday.

Wind speeds are forecast to exceed 60 mph at times, particularly in Uist.

Some high waves are expected off Barra.

Causeways and coastal roads may experience spray and debris coming over around the time of the afternoon high tide.

A breezy lull is forecast on Tuesday when the eye of the low pressure system passes eastwards.

But another depression follows, bringing storm conditions on Wednesday as it deepens while tracking across to Norway.

Wintry showers may also be expected midweek, especially in Lewis.
