Around 250 HHP homes are still to be repaired following damaged caused by hurricane winds last month.

Around 650 social housing homes - nearly a third of the total former housing stock run by Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) - across the Western Isles were hit by the violent storm on the night of 8 January.

A HHP spokesperson said: “Around 400 houses have now been completed and work is ongoing to deal with the remainder.

“This continues to be the highest priority for HHP and we hope – weather permitting – to complete all work within the next two to three weeks.”
