Loganair has suspended all air services for Friday due to weather disruption.
Hurricane-force winds are forecast in the Glasgow area, the location of the airline’s
main operating airfield.
A red weather warning of potential 100 mph winds has been issued across the central
belt and parts of Argyll where people are strong advised to stay at home and not
to travel or venture outdoors. An amber warning of wind speeds up to 90mph is in
force across the Western Isles and north of Scotland.
The airline said: “In view of the weather warnings issued, in the interest of safety
all Loganair flights on Friday 24th January have been cancelled.”
Storm Eowyn is due to hit central Scotland in the morning. Peak wind speeds for the
Hebrides are due later as storm tracks northwards.
