Police in Stornoway are appealing for information after a black Helly Hanson jacket and prescription medication were stolen from Stornoway Castle grounds near to the Woodland Centre on Tuesday 27 June.

The drugs that was taken were diazepam, temazepam and mirtazapine.

In appealing for information to assist enquiries Police Scotland warned of the “dangers of consuming medication that belongs to another person.

“Clearly any medication can be dangerous if taken by someone other than the person it is prescribed to and if taken in unprescribed quantities.”

Anyone with any information that may be useful is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting NH/02383/17 or speak to any police officer.

Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
