Start date for new Stornoway ferry 11/3/14
The new Stornoway ferry will start on the Minch route in late July and will formally take over the run on Saturday 8 September.
Cal Mac said the £42 million MV Loch Seaforth will commence sailings at the end of the enhanced summer service.
She is expected to undertake some scheduled sailings ahead of that as part of her preparation for coming into service.
The MV Isle of Lewis will be retained -
The freight ferry will go off run at the end of her charter so the Loch Seaforth is to make two day return sailings and one overnight return sailing, mirroring the present level of service until Spring 2015.
