Rough seas have forced nine swimmers to postpone a planned swim to St Kilda for the fourth time.

The charity swimmers had hoped to set off today on the 60-mile relay swim from Huishinish in Harris.

But forecasted waves up to four metres high and 30 mph northerly winds posed a strong safety risk.

The group hope to attempt to set off again sometime between 10th to 20th August.

The feat has never been done before but bad weather has repeatedly foiled the group’s attempts to set a record.
