A bid to undertake a record-breaking 60 mile relay swim to St Kilda has been postponed fort he second time this year.

Forecasts of rough seas and bad weather forced a group of intrepid adventurers to put off this weekend's attempt to tackle the tidal streams between Harris and the remote island archipelago out in the Atlantic Ocean.

Forecasts of unseasonable gales and rough waves forced the challenge’s postponement in May and an attempt last year was abandoned after 22 miles due to high waves.

They have one more chance this year to try again with the group hoping for a couple of days of calm conditions sometime between 25 July and 20 August.

The group is fundraising for four good causes - Yorkhill Children’s Charity, the Leanne Fund, The Fishermen’s Mission and the Aberlour Child Care Trust.
