The sports centre in Stornoway looks set to continue its early opening after a successful trial.
It allowed extra training time to athletes and swimmers which was an "important contributory factor in outstanding performances" at this year's International Island Games in Jersey according to a council report.
Enabling athletes to train twice each day on several days per week is standard practice in elite swimming.
During the pilot, Ionad Spòrs Leòdhais opened to the public at 7am, with staff on duty to prepare the facility from 6.45am.
To avoid extra staff payment for this 15 minute period, public opening is expected to start at 7.15am.
The cost for four days per week including additional hire
income from Swim Western Isles would be £4,339 per annum.
The council is being asked to allow early opening to continue.
