A speeding driver has lost his licence under the totting up procedure.

Ross Allison was caught by a police speed check at Willowglen in Stornoway on the morning of 24 April.

Stornoway Sheriff Court heard 20-year-old - who admitted doing 45mph in a 30mph zone - had clocked up nine points.

Sheriff David Sutherland imposed a further three points which means an automatic six month ban.

Allison was also fined £100.
